OK I have officially been dragged into the new century. I am on Twitter! Although I am still trying to figure it all out, it looks like it's going to be lots of fun. My name on Twitter is The Katie Cook. I'll try to keep you guys updated on some of the more fun things I am doing (interviewing cool people) and less on the boring things (I am at Kroger trying to find a ripe avocado)
Peace!

Hi Country Fans,
I launched a charity auction on ebay to raise money for Walden's Puddle Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center. There are autographed CD and posters from all kinds of big country stars including Taylor Swift, Kenny Chesney, George Straight, Alan Jackson, and many more. 100% of the proceeds go directly to Walden's Puddle.

Baby Animals Need Your Help!
It's Spring time, and that means beautiful flowers, green grass, and baby season! Wild animals are doing what they do best, making babies. Many of you already know about Walden's Puddle Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center, but for those that don't, it is Middle Tennessee's only professionally staffed wildlife care center. Walden's Puddle is dedicated to raising, rehabilitating, and releasing orphaned or injured animals back into the wild. Baby season means Walden’s Puddle is nearing capacity, and like many non profit organizations, our funds are critically low. The recent storms have added to our already large amount of admissions.
You can help! It's so easy, just visit www.wildlife2ndchance.org/ to make a donation. Any amount will help. We have also made it easy to set up a monthly donation. If every member gave just $10 a month, we would ...

Happy New Year to you all. I hope you are staying warm out there! Anyone who knows me, knows that I only wear faux fur this time of year. I was delighted to read that Kellie Pickler has joined this growing trend. This was recently posted on PETA's web site:
"When it comes to being an animal lover, Kellie Pickler is the real deal—she only wears fake fur. Eagle-eyed viewers of Dick Clark's New Year's Rockin' Eve spotted the "Best Days of Your Life" singer in what appeared to be a fur coat. But Kellie's publicist just confirmed what we suspected—that the coat was from PETA's favorite furrier: Cincinnati-based Donna Salyers' Fabulous Furs, which makes the most luxurious faux furs available."
Way to go Kellie! And you looked absolutely gorgeous on New Year's Eve. I have a friend who also makes wonderful high quality faux furs right ...

Well it's almost Christmas and I can't believe how this year has flown by. I have been listening to Christmas music in the house getting in the spirit. Faith Hill's new song "A Baby Changes Everything" is my new favorite. If you don't already have a copy, get it!
I have been very busy with CMT Insider this year. We were there when Kenny Chesney got his foot crushed on stage, I got to ride in Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car, had a front seat to Taylor Swift's meteoric rise to stardom, interviewed John McCain during his run for president, saw Dolly Parton's 9 to 5 Musical open in LA, and much much more. Thank you all for watching and making our show such a success. I truly enjoy every minute of my job and feel very blessed to be part of a show with such supportive viewers.
We are already making plans ...

This weekend I will be on the LA red carpet for the 9 to 5 musical. We'll be catching up with Miss Dolly and hopefully her old film mates Lilly Tomlin and Jane Fonda. That would be such a thrill! I know Dolly is super excited, after all, she wrote the music for it. Musicals are so risky, but I am sure if anyone has the ability to write a great one it is Dolly Parton. I'll post my review after I see the show!

We caught up with Keith Urban in New York recently for the official NFL kick off. First of all, he told us his back is doing much better. He had a bulging disk, which would be pretty painful if you are on stage every night playing guitar! He didn't have to cancel any shows, but he was restricted in his movement on stage.
He also talked about Nicole and Sunday Rose, who were in London at the time of our interview. He hates to be apart from them for more than a couple of days. He also said when Nicole is working, he plays Mr.Mom. Keith Urban as Mr.Mom, I love it!!! That is going to be one good looking kid.

CMT Insider recently went to Kenny Chesney's new house for a sit down interview. His new place has a great vibe, and is Kenny 100% ! He seemed so relaxed and at peace. Kenny is such a workaholic that is was nice to see him so chilled out.
He is very excited about this new album, "Lucky Old Sun", and promises more of an intimate experience for the fans when they hear it. He really dug deep to write these songs, and from what I have heard of it so far, it is going to huge! He is singing better than ever, and I really think these songs are going to connect with his fans in a whole new way. It's obvious that he went through some heavy times in the last few years and it really comes across in his writing.
Thanks Kenny for sharing so much of your self with ...

I just have to say I am totally thrilled for Melissa Lawson winning Nashville Star. Any of the top three would have deserved to win, but as a mother myself, it is always a thrill to see another Mom living her dream. I don't think Melissa ever took a moment of that show for granted. She was so focused and it really paid off. I hope she has a huge career, and can I say I was there when it all started! Way to go Melissa.

I am always amazed at the cool and unusual things I get to do with CMT, and this past weekend just about topped it all. As many of you know, John Rich has written a song for Senator John McCain’s presidential election campaign. The song is called “Raisin’ McCain,” and in true John Rich fashion it’s rocking! John Rich played a McCain rally in Panama City, Florida, and we were invited to go down and interview them both. Any time you can interview someone who might be the next president of the United States, it’s a big deal! I am keeping my fingers crossed for an Obama interview, too.
(I should point out here that as a CMT host, I am going to officially stay neutral about who I am supporting. That is not to say I haven’t made up my mind, but it’s important ...
